However, following God does not always lead to peaceful circumstances. In fact, I would say that frequently that is not the case. Jeremiah might be a good example of my assertion. Verse 6 says that God gave Asa peace from his enemies. We should remove those "high" places as well. What I mean is that we all have secret sin. Everybody does. To be like Jesus, we have to ask God to help us stay clear of those idols we all hold close.
