I'll Always be There

Sometimes were afraid to start the day because we fear what it brings. Have you ever felt anxiety about what might happen in the day. Maybe it's a court hearing you have to appear at, maybe it's a doctors visit that you're concerned about, maybe it's a new job or new school and today is your first day, maybe today is the first day after the loss of a loved one and you just don't know how your going to do it. These days of uncertainty are the days that we need to have courage and strength to go on and face it.

The good news is that there is nothing that God can't handle so we need to cast our burdens on Him. Go to Him for comfort and peace and seek His council when you're afraid or worried. Just remember... You're not alone! The situation may appear overwhelming, but it isn't. You may wonder how you are going to get through this alone, but you're not alone. God wants to encourage you today. He wants you to know that whatever you are going through, He will be there with you. So as you face your trial today remember this verse of scripture and be encouraged. You're going to make it through!

Isaiah 43:2
"When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."

I've just read THE SHACK, a wonderful novel about God's working in the life of a man who is hurting. In it, Jesus explains to the main character that his (the man's) imagination of the future "...is almost always dictated by fear of some kind and rarely, if ever, pictures me (Jesus) there with you."

How true...especially for me.

Interesting comment Gene. I'm the same way more often than not. I see a future that's fearful and I don't see Jesus there with me. Usually when I get there I know He's there and I experience His help and comfort, but it appears I'm going in alone in the beginning.

The promise of this verse is in knowing He's there, even when we don't see Him. It takes a lot of faith to walk through fire and trust you won't get burned because Jesus is protecting you. I think all we see are the flames and maybe it's not until we've taken the step of faith and entered the fire do we then see Jesus. Reminds me of Shadrach, Meshach, and Obed-Nego. After they were thrown into the fire, it was then the forth person was seen with them.

Daniel 3:24-25
(24) The King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O King." (25)"Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
